Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 1/2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk (warmed to 110°F)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing the tops)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking pan by lightly buttering the bottom and sides.
  2. Make garlic butter: Melt butter in a small pot over low heat with minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, parsley, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warmed milk, egg, and cooled garlic butter; mix until smooth using a stand mixer on low speed for about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each into a ball. Place in the prepared pan and cover to rise until doubled in size (about 1-2 hours).
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Brush tops of rolls with beaten egg wash.
  6. Bake for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare additional garlic butter while baking; brush over hot rolls after they come out of the oven.
