  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with minced garlic and chopped onion for about 10 minutes until browned. Drain any excess liquid.
  2. Add chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan. Let simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in the rinsed pinto beans and salt; cook for an additional 15 minutes before serving.
