  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for the topping)
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for the topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (for the topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a donut pan by coating it with non-stick spray.
  2. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Chill in the freezer.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix wet ingredients: sour cream, egg, melted butter, and brown sugar.
  4. Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined. Spoon batter into the donut pan and sprinkle with chilled crumb topping.
  5. Bake for 10-11 minutes until donuts spring back when touched. Cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
